Wisdom Tooth
What is a Wisdom Tooth and Why Do We Have Them?
Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, are the last teeth to develop, usually in your late teens or early twenties. Our ancestors used them to chew tough foods like roots and nuts, but today, we no longer need them. However, wisdom teeth still develop, often in jaws that don’t have enough room, leading to overcrowding or impaction, which is why they often need removal.
What It's Like to Have Wisdom Teeth

Many people have wisdom teeth that grow in normally without pain or problems.

Some feel slight pressure as wisdom teeth emerge, which often resolves on its own.

When there isn’t enough room, wisdom teeth can cause discomfort by pressing against other teeth.

Partially erupted wisdom teeth may become infected if food or bacteria get trapped.
Not everyone experiences complications, but regular monitoring can catch potential issues early.

Besides the expected soreness and tenderness after a surgery like that, I did not have any significant pain throughout my recovery. The whole team felt so easy to talk to, and were so helpful throughout the whole process. I'm someone who gets nervous when it comes to dental work, and I would recommend this office again and again!Posted on Olivia BohuslavTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had some serious pain for 3-4 weeks after, but they always managed to fit me in and pack the wounds with pain alleviating medicine and were very communicative throughout.Posted on Kyle NeedlesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My 16 year old son had all 4 of his wisdom teeth removed yesterday. Everything went well. We have been following all the instructions we were given by the office and icing off and on. My son is doing great today….minimal swelling only some minor soreness. He will have his follow up next week. We highly recommend Dr Eggleston and his staff.😁Posted on Tara LTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Highly experienced, and trustworthy! Will def continue to visit. Thank you 😊Posted on Thomas BaileyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My tooth extraction was quick and Dr. Eggleston was great. The only small issue, is that they do have an inexperienced assistant that was poking a little too much, especially the uvula where there was nothing going on during the extraction. Is not a big deal though. It was a painless and quick procedure and I am grateful for that.Posted on Cesar P Moncada
